Be sure to spend a few hours in Port Douglas! This once quaint fishing town is a bustling tourist spot with cool shops and a vast beach. If you are looking to extend your stay in this great little town, head for the water, with a vast array of water sports to chose.
Cape Tribulation is the main village within the Daintree. Most of the budget accommodation and tour operators are situated in this small tropical town. From here it is only a short stroll to the local beaches. Be sure to take the boardwalk stroll to discover the biodiversity of this unique fauna.
The Daintree is home to over 3000 plant species and about one third of Australia’s mammal species, 13 of which are endemic to this region. The Cassowary also lives in the rainforest. It is a shy, giant, flightless bird found only here and at Mission Beach. Some great tourism operators are based here.
Get high in the rainforest! Offering flying fox runs and platforms in the jungle canopy, this multiple award winning adventure company is unique. Attached to ropes, you simply swing through the jungle tree tops.
