A short, under an hour drive from Melbourne, the Yarra Valley is a world class, world renowned wine region. With over 120 wineries, great cellar doors and fantastic food, you are sure to enjoy your time in the valley.

Healesville

Located right in the centre of the Yarra Valley food and wine district, this is a popular destination. World-renowned for its spectacular animal sanctuary, the Healesville Sanctuary is famous for its wide range of over 200 Australian native species. Sip a glass of wine, head out for a bite or take a walk on one of the tracks about town, through fern gullies and mountain ash areas.

Maryville

Built in 1863 to service the goldfields, Maryville, known for its 1920s old village charm was devastated by the Victorian Black Saturday Bushfires, February 2009. Take the scenic one and a half hour drive from Melbourne on the Black Spur drive, winding through the Great Dividing Ranges, past Mountain Ash and tree ferns. The Lake Mountain Ski Resort is a fantastic winter destination for those wanting some fun in the snow! This is also a great place for spring and summer walking.

Warburton

Set on the Upper Yarra Valley, Warburton is a quiet corner of the world. The 3km Yarra River Walk is a great way to see the town. For a longer walk, Warburton is at one end of the well known Lilydale-Warburton trail, a 38 km. You can also visit La La Falls and Mt Donna Buang.

Yarra Glen

Home to some of the country’s best known wineries, Yarra Glen offers fantastic cellar door tasting. There is a great deal of local produce at regional farmers markets where you can buy and taste produce from the area. Take one of the many trail walks, have a picnic, hop on a bike or a hot balloon ride to best see the beautiful area. Also make time to visit the region’s only Pioneer farm, and see cattle, sheep and horses.
