It’s about to get fairly confusing in Best Backpacker Job-ville.

For the last few weeks, I’ve been traveling up the east coast of Australia solo. It’s been great, you have to make a pretty concentrated effort to not have fun in Oz, but it’s also made for a few awkwardly framed self-portraits and some long stretches of open road with just Wilson and myself.

I picked up Bobbi Lee (Bobbi-Jo and Bobbi Lee? Good luck readers) from the airport yesterday, so from the Gold Coast on up, there will be two of us getting into trouble and exploring Australia for your reading pleasure.

We kicked off the union by taking a trip to see the National Rugby League game between the Titans and the Raiders. Now, from what I’ve put together, Rugby League is the most popular form (out of about 50 different games that fall under the “rugby” banner, all of which are called “footie”). Thankfully, they’re all required to wear short little shorts and it seems like being attractive is a prerequisite to play the sport, so we had a blast even at the times we had no idea what was going on.

It’s our last morning in Coolie, so we’re headed up to Surfer’s Paradise in a few. I’m looking forward to the rest of the trip and having, um, a real life person to talk to during Benny rides instead of a stuffed kangaroo.

Related: we test drove freaking people out by introducing ourselves (“I’m Bobbi”…”I’m Bobbi, too”) in rapid fire last night. It’s totally hilarious and no doubt will keep me entertained for a while.
