While blogging about my trip up the east coast of Australia, I've gone to some pretty extreme lengths to find free internet. I've camped out at roadside McDonald's for hours on end. I've even sat outside various libraries at all hours of the night trying to get a steady stream.
Unfortunately, the connection is often times shaky. For someone that uploads hundreds of photos a week, the free options aren't always so time efficient. I've lost internet after imbedding links and placing photos on posts and had to start from scratch. In fact, waiting for videos to upload from iMovie to YouTube via a free internet connection has cost me hours worth of sight-seeing time in the past.
Plus, places that host free internet or internet with a purchase don't exist everywhere on the east coast of Australia.
But Global Gossip Connect does.

The Aussie prepaid internet and international calls company has often times been a life saver for me. Whether I needed to quickly check the pick-up time for a tour the next day, book a flight, post photos on Facebook, tweet what I'm doing on Twitter or just reach out to friends and family back home, Global Gossip Connect has been there.
Not only has the internet company there for me, but it's also been reliable. With Global Gossip Connect the connection is high-speed and efficient for the most part. I'm not wasting my time waiting for a page to load or a video to buffer. I know when I see a globe with those voluptuous red lips posted outside hostels and coffee shops that I can expect the same connection as my private wireless connection at home.
Internet is not always cheap in Australia and it's something I know a lot backpackers and travelers try not to spend too much of their money on. But for better or worse, we now live in a world where it's almost impossible to travel abroad and not use the internet at least once.
People can buy internet with Global Gossip Connect in incriminates of 15 minutes or make an unlimited purchase on a day, week or month when they know they'll be active online.
It costs $A1 to purchase 15 minutes, which is the average price of prepaid internet. I've seen it as high as $A8 per hour. Purchasing unlimited internet is more of a bargain for people that really use it. One day unlimited internet costs $A15, one week (168 hours in seven days) costs $A50 and one month (720 hours in 30 days) costs $150.
Prepaid cards are available for purchase wherever the service is offered and people can add credit to their card there or online.
People purchasing prepaid internet by the minutes, it's thriftier for them to do as much as they can offline, such as write emails in Word or Pages and edit photos in Photoshop or iPhoto, then use only a few minutes of Global Gossip Connect to paste and send or upload work while online.
With Global Gossip Connect, people can spend anywhere from hours to minutes to seconds online. They aren't forced to buy an hour of internet and use it all at once like in internet cafes or through some private hostels.
People can use their serial number to connect on their own computers or on computers provided at places with Global Gossip Connect.
It's a reliable company with a great reputation among backpackers in Australia. Available at most VIP hostels, visit their website to learn more about prices and locations.

Thanks for this review on Global Gossip Connect.
Do you have any experience with the mobile prepaid service? Are the coverage and rates ok?

Hi Jurriaan, they use Vodafone so the coverage is good and their International call rates are very cheap. No problems from me whatsoever!
