Wednesday night jams at Side Bar

A rose by any other name would...well...still be a rose.

So I guess a band without a name would still be a band, yes? Yes, and a rockin’ good one at that.

I think in this instance, Prince set a pretty good precedent.

Between covering current favorites and rock classics, the guys that make up this nameless band - Daniel and Andre who sing and play the rhythm guitar and bass respectively, along with Remi on the drums and Mark, the lead guitarist - would do His Royal Badness proud.

Every Wednesday night at Side Bar - Wakeup! Australia’s in-house lounge and bar - you can find these local gents playing to a full house of backpackers, flashpackers, and passersby from the area that have come to check out the sweet tunes pouring out onto the sidewalk. They start their set off immediately with songs to get the crowd moving and keep it up for a solid 3 hours.

Want to hear some Oasis? They can do that. Kings of Leon? That too. From the States and feeling a bit homesick? Sweet Home Alabama is in their repertoire, and they even update it a bit by throwing in a little Kid Rock.

From a girl that goes to 2-3 shows a month (to ensure that my eardrums will be completely destroyed by the time I turn 25) I can honestly say that they put on a phenomenal show. And you know a band is killer when they can not only play a song, but make it their own, leaving you wanting to hear what their own material sounds like.

Make sure that if you’re in Sydney to stop by Side Bar and see these guys while you can. They won’t be nameless for long and if (when) they get the following they deserve they’re going to be the hottest ticket in town.
