Rail Travel in Australia

Australia has some of the world's most spectacular and unforgettable rail journeys. Routes are operated by a host of different rail companies all around the country, allowing you to get around quite easily.

Certainly there is no better way to experience the Australian Outback: its cities, coastal towns, and regional areas in full comfort.

Trains and routes

While we do admit, that train travel is generally more expensive than bus and coach travel, distances are vast and the comfort and mobility that trains afford while travelling is worth the few extra dollars. Be aware that train tickets can be purchased in the same way as bus and coach tickets, allowing you to buy a ticket for a duration of time in which you can hop on and off, greatly easing your travel.
